Ex-NOAH subcontractor given jail sentence

A former contractor with the New Orleans Affordable Homeownership Program has been sentenced to six months in prison for engaging in a series of thefts of funds meant to re-mediate homes after Hurricane Katrina.

Jamon Dial, 40, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Lance Africk.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Dial admitted to being paid for five home remediations in which the work wasn't performed or in which the homeowner or a volunteer organization performed the work.
