Man found shot to death in Algiers home



New Orleans Homicide Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 37 year-old man at a residence in the 3500 block of Bacchus Drive.

According to a release from the New Orleans Police Department, the victim was startled by a knock on his bedroom window shortly after 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

The victim went to the window to investigate when unknown gunman shot him once in the chest from the exterior of the home, say police.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.

Officers arrived and found the victim lying in the hallway of the residence. He'd been shot once to the body and died on the scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
