Should be great weather for a couple of local events in New Orleans this weekend.

As usual, music and food are being celebrated at two neighborhood festivals.

Saturday, it's the 4th annual Magazine Street Blues Festival.

Top local acts such as the Soul Rebels, Rockin' Dopsie and the Zydeco Twisters will perform from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the intersection of Magazine and Napoleon.

And, they'll be serving up some of New Orleans' best cuisine from favorite local restaurants and street food vendors.

"Great pre-Thanksgiving sort of food like smoked turkey legs and gumbo and turtle soup," says Festival coordinator Shelley Pigeon.

Additionally, there will be an artist's village featuring talented local artists displaying and selling their original pieces and art works. There will be original jewelry designs, hand painted clothing and accessories, water colors, photography, stained glass and many more.

Sandwiches take center stage Sunday at the 2012 Oak Street Po-Boy Festival in the Uptown neighborhood of Oak Street between Carrollton and Eagle Street.

"They have some of the best restaurants in the city, all getting together making the iconic po-boy," says Brendan Young, from Squeals' BBQ, one of 30 restaurants competing.

The festival starts at 11 a.m. Sunday, and judging for begins at 3:15. Prizes will be awarded for best sandwich in four po-boy categories....Best Seafood, Best Sausage, Best Turkey/Chicken and Best Pork/Meat Po-boy.

There'll be two stages with live music, panel discussions covering the history of the po-boy and the Oak Street corridor and an expanded Kid's World held on the campus of St. Andrew's Episcopal School located at 8012 Oak Street.

Also, featured performance by the Pussy Footers and the 610 Stompers.
