In his first interview since Mitt Romney's failed presidential bid, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal said the GOP needs to "stop being the stupid party" if it wants to win back the White House.
In the interview with Politico.com, Jindal said, “We’ve got to make sure that we are not the party of big business, big banks, big Wall Street bailouts, big corporate loopholes, big anything.”
Jindal also spoke out against what he sees as anti-intellectualism within the Republican Party.
"We’ve also had enough of this dumbed-down conservatism," Jindal is reported as telling Politico. "We need to stop being simplistic, we need to trust the intelligence of the American people and we need to stop insulting the intelligence of the voters.”
WWL Radio has requested an interview with Gov. Jindal about his post-election thoughts. We have not yet heard back from his spokesman about the request.
