Louisiana Democrats may not have made any big gains here but they are still celebrating President Obama's win Tuesday night.  Republicans, meanwhile, are trying to forge a path for the future.

Even though Barack Obama was pretty well rejected by Louisiana voters, Louisiana Democratic Party executive director Stephen Handwerk says he couldn't be happier with the outcome.

"I think the American people spoke pretty soundly that they want to move forward," he said.

Meanwhile, Republican U.S. Senator David Vitter says they've got some reorganizing to do, at least nationally.

"The election yesterday was a huge disappointment across the board for conservatives," said Vitter.  But the senator said that there are more immediate concerns, like an upcoming session of Congress dealing with possible tax hikes, spending cuts and the pending, so-called "fiscal cliff."
