Locals happy election is finally over

Two years and two billion dollars later, the presidential election is finally over.

After all the hype, all the TV ads and all the mudslinging, locals in the CBD tell me they're glad this process is finally done.
Everyone I talked to said they're happy it's finally over, some looking forward to the country moving forward again, and others happy to see TV and Facebook get back to normal.

"Tired of the mudslinging and all the other campaign ads that you see on TV.  Anytime it's an election year it's disgusting," said one downtown worker.  Another man says, "We have so much hype, so much buildup to it, that it just perpetuates the nastiness of it."

Others have a sense of relief.  "It just makes us move forward one way or another.  I'm happy for that."

Some want there friends back, "The Facebook comments!  Everyone's oh, so important comments that they feel the need to share with everyone."

And would it be a good idea to shorten the campaign cycle?  "Yes, I think England has it that way, where people can campaign only the last three or four months before the election.  I think we it should be something like that."
