The Tigers will not be running the option this time around, because of quarterback Zach Mettenberger's lack of mobility. So Head Coach Les Miles will count on the passing game to be the key to their success on Saturday night.
"We're going to stretch them vertically and horizontally with the passing game," Miles said. ‘We're going to have to defeat press coverage and quality zone coverage and get open."
Alabama leads the Southeastern Conference in pass defense, allowing 146 yards a game. Opponents are completing just 51-percent of their passes against the Tide's vaunted defense.
Mettenberger has completed 57-percent of his passes and he's averaging just 177 yards a game.
The first-year starting quarterback acknowledged that for the Tigers to pull off the upset, he'll have to make some plays.
"We are going to have to be very efficient in the passing game to create some big plays," Mettenberger said. "Hopefully, we will go out there and execute better than what we did in the past."
