Fox Sports New Orleans doubles TV distribution for Hornets games

With the New Orleans Hornets’ October 31 regular-season opener in less than a week, Fox Sports announced today that more viewers than ever before will be able to watch the team’s local telecasts on the re-branded FOX Sports New Orleans regional sports network. Fox says they now reached several agreements with local video providers.

The opening night telecast against the San Antonio Spurs will reach more than 1.5 million homes throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama on the majority of the local video providers, including Cox Communications, DirecTV, Dish Network and AT&T U-Verse.
The number of homes is expected to grow Fox says, as they continue negotiations with the other local video distributors, including Charter Communications on the Northshore.

The Hornets and Fox Sports earlier this year reached a long-term television rights agreement establishing Fox Sports New Orleans as new local television home of the Hornets.
