Entergy Isaac response up for discussion today

Could the power companies in Louisiana have done a better job getting the juice flowing again after Hurricane Isaac?  The Louisiana Public Service Commission will be asking questions of Entergy and other power companies today.

A lot of people complained about how long it took to get their power back on after Isaac finally moved north.  PSC chairman Foster Campbell says he knows what the utilities will tell the commission.

"I know Entergy's going to say they did the best they could do, which I expect, but did they, really?" asked Campbell. "That's the question that's got to be answered, did they really do the best they could do? Could it been handled any better? Why didn't they handle it better if it could have been handled better?"

The U.S. Department of Energy said it thought Entergy and all other Louisiana power providers did an excellent job, but Campbell says he heard enough complaints from utility customers that they deserved some answers.

"The Public Service Commission hears their complaints, and we represent them.  We're their voice.  We don't represent Entergy.  We represent the people," he said.
