The issue of the CCC tolls is on the November 6th ballot.
D'Juan Hernandez is the Chairman of the newly-formed political action committee Bridging Progress.
"Protecting this bridge is critical to the economic development of this region, Hernandez said. "If tolls are rejected, we believe that the Crescent City Connection will fall victim to bureaucracy and neglect. By continuing tolls on this important bridge means that we will continue progress throughout the area and protect the integrity of this iconic and well-used structure. Saving our Crescent City Connection is vitally important to the businesses of this region."

According to a press release from the group, among the business organizations pledging support for continuing the tolls: The Jefferson Business Council, the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, Algiers Economic Development Foundation, the Business Council of New Orleans and the River Region, the New Orleans Chamber and Plaquemines Association of Business and Industry.
Lee Giorgio, officer of Bridging Progress PAC, says, "When these impressive business organizations unify in support of continuing tolls, we are sending a strong message to our community that we have confidence in the new oversight for the Crescent City Connection. And we believe that $22 million annually in toll revenue is needed so that we may continue to improve our region and strengthen our economic base."
The opposition to the tolls has been very vocal, saying the toll money has historically been squandered and the tolls have served their purpose and paid for the bridge.
