Tiger Nation, get ready for an early wake-up call! LSU kicks off at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday when it takes on new SEC member Texas A&M. Since a lot of traveling fans will be staying a good hour and 45 minutes away in Houston, that means setting the alarm clocks!
It has been 17 years since LSU took on the Aggies, so you bet a lot of purple and gold flags will be flying west on I-10 soon. LSU travel expert Jim Dumigan says this game is getting a lot of interest.
"It's going to be surprising, I think, when they show all the purple and gold in the stands," Dumigan said. Due to LSU's large alumni group in Houston, he expects the Fighting Tigers to be well represented at Kyle Field.
One possible hitch in the plan: an unusually early kickoff time. LSU is accustomed to playing its football after sundown, but this game is scheduled for 11 o'clock!
"Once you get a curveball like eleven o'clock in the morning, it really puts a stick in the spokes with pre-game," said Dumigan.
That means rising early and hitting the road for the trip up to College Station.
"They're leaving at 6:30, which-- that's like the middle of the night for me, I don't know!" Dumigan said. "Pretty doggone early to get over there."
