A Washington Parish woman is accused of murdering her toddler son.

Investigators say Heather Bennett claimed her son had fallen off a bed last month, but doctors at Children's Hospital in New Orleans were suspicious.  The child died, and Washington Parish Sheriff Chief Deputy Mike Haley says the coroner's report told a different story.

"From all accounts, it appears that it's a classic shaken child syndrome type murder," Haley said.  "We issued an arrest warrant for Miss Bennett charging her with first degree murder of her 15-month-old son."

Authorities say Bennett has two other small children, including a newborn and is currently separated from her husband.
