VIDEO: Manning confident in the Saints and Peyton, ready for regular refs

The first father of football in New Orleans shared some thoughts today on the hot topics in the NFL.  Archie Manning sounded off on the replacement officials, the Saints struggles, challenges facing his son - Peyton, and more.

As for the fill in officials, Manning said they just don't have the proper training.

"That's a difficult job they have, and experience is a big factor when you are a player and a coach, but experience is a big factor when you are a ref too," he insisted.  "We need to get the other officials out there and kinda get things back to normal in the game."

As for the Saints 0 - 3 start, Manning said it's a long season.

"Don't panic, just win a game," he insisted. "It's just football... and football takes funny turns.  Everybody just hang in."

Can the Saints still go to the Super Bowl?

"Sure, yeah, you just gotta start winning some games."

Manning said the Saints have the players, coaches and winning experience to still make a run.

When it comes to his son, Peyton, and his new start as the quarterback for the 1 - 2 Denver Broncos... Papa Manning said there is still plenty of time to get things on track.

"Peyton has kinda told people from the get go that it's kind of work in process for him as he continues to rehab," he reminded the fans.

"He hadn't played in 20 months and (is) also starting a new team," Archie explained.  "The Broncos are trying to find themselves."

Manning has been getting sacked and hit an awful lot as he fights to still fully recover from multiple neck surgeries.

"You never want to see your child get hit out there... he got hammered pretty good out there last week," but Manning remained confident.  "He'll be back."
