Body found at school prompts lockdown

Cops say officials locked down a Central City school in New Orleans after the discover of a dead 18-year-old man in the bushes outside Mahalia Jackson Elementary, on Jackson Avenue. 

WWL TV reports that investigators believe the teen may have been shot Sunday at South Robertson and St. Andrew streets.

According to NOPD spokesman Officer Frank Robertson, the body is that of Jamaal Christian, 18, who was reported missing from New Orleans East. 
 

School officials confirmed that the school is currently locked down.
