"The day it comes out, you gotta have it," one man in line in Elmwood told WWL First News.
Another phone fan said, "It's just one of those things, you want something, once your mind and your heart are set on it... you gotta have it."
One woman was holding a place in line for her son while he slept at home.
"That's what you do for the love of a child," she explained.
Others say they enjoy the experience and getting the latest phone.
"It's just like a tradition, every time it comes out... I gotta be here."
"I can't wait because everybody will talk about it, and it just makes it worse."
"I can't wait."
"Gotta get that new phone."
"I have absolutely nothing better to do."
What is so attractive about it?
"Bigger screen, faster speeds, the new upgrades," one man insisted.
