Oiled pelican found in Delacroix

Laboratory tests last week proved that globs of oil found on two Louisiana Beaches after Hurricane Isaac came from the 2010 BP spill.

Now, it's likely the same oil is affecting some area wildlife.

A large adult pelican was found Friday, covered in thick brown oil near a Delacroix dock in St. Bernard Parish.

The weak, disoriented bird didn't have the strength to fly away from fishermen working a few feet away.

A wildlife rescue team picked up the oiled pelican and took it to a rehabilitation center for cleaning.
BP's Gulf Coast Incident Manager said the company expected residual oil to kick up during Isaac.
