New Orleans' City Council meets today and will discuss Entergy's response to Hurricane Isaac and call for an investigation into the power company's work to reconnect its customers. There's also a corporate shakeup underway at Entergy, including the reassignment of the president of one of the corporation's Louisiana power utilities.

A lot of the criticism of Entergy focused on how the company handled the logistics of thousands of out-of-state power crews sent here to help. As an example, Jefferson Councilman Chris Roberts says there was a group from Massachusetts that ended up parked at a Westbank shopping center for 12 hours while awaiting orders.

"When they finally got their assignment, their assignment was on Bluebonnet in Baton Rouge," Roberts said.

Stories like that had Jefferson Parish President John Young suggesting that heads should roll.

"I'd be asking a lot of tough questions to my subordinates as to why action hasn't been taken," Young said during a news conference after the storm. "If I was the board of Entergy, I'd be asking the CEO for his resignation."

The board didn't do that, but Entergy Corporation announced that Entergy Louisiana/Gulf States president Bill Mohl is being reassigned.  He will take over the company's wholesale commodities division, based in White Plains, New York, when that division's current president retires in January.

The statement, including the announcement of Entergy Corporation's chairman and CEO J. Wayne Leonard's retirement after 13 years on the job, makes no mention of the hurricane recovery.
