The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality says it's closing all beaches along the state's Gulf Coast until debris from Hurricane Isaac can be cleared and water quality can be tested.
Department spokesman Robbie Wilbur says Friday that the closures are precautionary and are expected to last several days.
Isaac pushed ashore late Tuesday and its storm surge pushed water from the Mississippi Sound across beaches and roads Wednesday in all three of Mississippi's coastal counties.
