Locations for food, ice, water distribution



The Louisiana National Guard is be managing Points of Distribution in key areas affected by Hurricane Isaac in locations where conditions permit.  Most of the Points of Distribution Sites (PODs) will be opened 6am-6pm

Orleans:

– After reviewing usage statistics, the availability of retail stores that have reopened, and the percentage of power that has been restored to the area, the City and the National Guard will close three of the remaining four Point of Distribution (POD) locations at 8:00 p.m. tonight. The following three locations will close tonight:
•    The Municipal Auditorium in Armstrong Park at 1451 Basin Street;
•    2730 Vespasian Blvd on the West Bank; and
•    700 Poland Avenue, the Port of Embarkation in the Bywater.
 The National Guard is continuing to operate the POD site at Old Engine 31 in Venetian Isles at 4300 Alba Road where citizens can pick up critical supplies like water, ice, ready-to-eat meals (MREs) and tarps in the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac. This POD site is open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., or while daylight allows, until further notice.
New Orleans East, 10001 Lake Forest (near Methodist Hospital and behind Executive Plaza on Read)

  • West Bank, 2730 Vespasian Blvd. (Closing after Tuesday)
  • Lower Ninth Ward, Port of Embarkation, 700 Poland Ave. (Closing after Tuesday)
  • Venetian Isles, 4300 Alba
  • The Municipal Auditorium, near Armstrong Park (Closing after Tuesday)
  • Tad Gormley, Marconi Drive in City Park
  • Food distribution at New Home Family Worship Center at 13800 Hayne Blvd from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

St. Tammany:

Ice & Water Distribution Site Beginning at 8:00AM Saturday morning, the Louisiana National Guard began distributing ice and water at the following locations:

  • First Baptist Church in Covington, 16333 Louisiana Highway 1085 Until 5pm and 12:30 – 5pm on Sunday
  • Lacombe Recreation District #4, 61100 North 12th Street 8am – 5pm
  • Park parking lot, 1330 Bayou Lane @ the corner of Pennsylvania, Slidell 8am – 5pm Heritage
*will be suspended at 6:00PM today(sept 3rd) in all areas of the parish.

Terrebonne:

  • Houma Civic Center

Lafourche:

  • Our Lady of Prompt Succor, 723 North Bayou Dr, Golden Meadow
  • Holy Savior Catholic Church, 612 Main Street, Lockport
  • Ag Center, 101 Texas St, Raceland

St. John the Baptist:

  • 2900 Hwy 51, LaPlace, La
  • East St. John Elementary, 400 Ory Dr, LaPlace

St. Bernard:

  • POD located at 8315 W. Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette will CLOSE at 6 p.m. Sunday
  • Islenos Museum Complex 1345-1357 Bayou Road St. Bernard, LA 70085. Residents must enter from LA 46 (New Extension) and exit at Bayou Road.
  • The St. Bernard Pastor’s Coalition will be providing lunch and dinner today at Living Cornerstone Church International 714 W St Bernard Pkwy Braithwaite. Lunch will be provided at 12:00 Noon and dinner at 5:00 p.m.

Jefferson:

 

  • On the Westbank, residents may go to the Alario Center, 2000 Segnette Blvd. in Westwego. Open from 8:00am until 8:00pm or while supplies last.
  • On the Eastbank, residents may continue to go to Zephyr Field, 6000 Airline Drive in Metairie. Enter at the parking lot closest to the Saints Training Facility. Open from 8:00am until 8:00pm or while supplies last.

St. James:

  • Sacred Heart,615 E. Main Street, Gramercy

  • 7248 Park St, St. James
