Listen to Saints Radio online

WWL, your flagship station of the Saints Radio Network, reminds you that you can now listen to Saints games LIVE on your computer at WWL.com

You'll be able to hear every exciting play-by-play from Jim Henderson and Deuce McAllister, as well as all of our pre-game and post-game coverage.

We talked with our web/digital gurus Scott Colomb and Ian Hoch about what this means, how it works, and if there are any limitations:

Q:  Can I get the game on my mobile phone / smartphone / WWL iPhone or Android app?

A: No - You'll only be able to hear the Saints game stream on WWL.com on a desktop or laptop computer. This is an important point: Unfortunately, we only have the right to carry the games on our regular WWL.com stream for desktops and laptop computers.  Another company already holds the rights to stream audio of NFL games to apps and smartphones.  That means we will not be able to offer the Saints game via the WWL.com stream on any mobile phone, on the iPhone app, or on any other type of mobile device. Sorry about that!

Q:  Yeah, but I wanted to be able to listen to the game on my smart phone inside the Superdome.

A: We've got a much better solution:  Bring a radio! Inside the Superdome, we have a separate transmitter and antenna that broadcasts the game LIVE on 105.3 FM.  And, we mean LIVE, with zero delay.  Even if you could listen to our game stream on your smart phone, there is a very long delay on the stream.  Bringing a small FM radio with headphones will let you hear Jim & Deuce call the game as it happens.

Q:  Is there any charge to listen to Saints games on WWL.com?

A:  No, it's completely free, and you don't need to sign up for anything, either. However, although we do not charge to stream on game day (or any other day,) you should note that running a live audio stream on your computer does count as data usage on your internet plan. You may want to check with your internet service provider if you think streaming several hours a week could make an impact on your data usage limitations with your particular internet provider.

Q:   Can I listen to the games at WWL.com if I'm out of state or out of country?

A:  Unfortunately, we are no longer able to stream the games online in areas outside of the US and Canada. That wasn't always the case, but the regulatory environment in regard to international streaming has changed and we deeply regret that we can no longer provide this service to the Who Dat Nation overseas.

Q:  Will the audio on the web stream be in sync with the TV?

A:  Not exactly. When we send our Saints broadcast from Jim & Deuce to computer servers that redistribute the audio to thousands of  WWL.com listeners, it requires massive "buffering" of the audio to ensure that everyone can hear the game.  That process does result in a significant delay between what you see on TV and what you hear on WWL.com.  If you have a DVR, however, you could also pause your video to let the streaming audio "catch up," and then you'll be in sync!

Deke: Saints' hot start fizzles in Kansas City
The Chiefs handled the Saints 27-21 - they have at least another two weeks in which they can possibly - and I say possibly - have another shot to get to five hundred. Standing with a 2-3 mark, the Saints went on the road to historic Arrowhead Stadium...

Deke: Kansas City Chiefs will test Saints' mettle
OK simply put, if the Saints don't want to be delegated to scoreboard watching and hoping for other teams to lose in order for them gain ground, then getting to five hundred this week would aid in that rather meaningless stat! The KC Chiefs have...

Kristian: Saints LB Ellerbe says he's "very close" to playing again
Hampered by a quad injury, the talented but oft injured Dannell Ellerbe hasn't played a defensive snap this season for the Black and Gold, but told me today "I feel like I'm very close, but you'd have to ask Coach Payton." Ellerbe added that...

Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro didn't mince words after the Saints 27-21 loss to Kansas City. "We just have to keep working. We have to get better quick if we want to get back to .500," he said. Pretty innocent comments right? Well he continued, "Guys have...

Brees: Turnovers sank Saints in Kansas City, but offense has bright spots
The Saints had this one! Well they could have had it if not for two turnovers and 10 penalties! "The turnovers resulted in 10 or 14 point swings. We were 9 of 14 on third down here in K.C and that usually wins you a lot of games," Drew Brees...

Kristian: This is the game that will haunt the Saints the rest of the season
First down: If the Saints finish the season 7-9 or 8-8 this season, there will be plenty of the "what if" scenario. What if the team had made one or two more plays in just two games? Heck, you won't even need that - it's not the Raiders game, or the...
