Late this afternoon high winds hit Kenner and downed a lot of trees south of Veterans near Roosevelt Blvd. says police Sgt. Brian McGregor.

He says there have been numerous reports of houses or cars hit by trees, and "One house and car were damaged in the 2600 block of Kansas."  He says public works and Entergy are working on repairs, as some electric lines were impacted by falling trees.

McGregor says there have been no reports of injuries.
