Brees on Letterman... bounty probe, contract and concussions

Drew Brees has turned down an offer to play for another team, but the offer was not a serious one.

Brees was on the Late Show with David Letterman.  After talking about his beleaguered contract talks and the bounty gate allegations, Letterman presented him with a tongue in cheek new job prospect.

"If you are fed up, I can get you a deal with the Jets," Letterman told the Saints QB.

Brees replied, "They have enough quarterbacks."

As for the bounty investigation, Brees renewed his call for the NFL to present all of the alleged evidence that the league says proves Saints players were paid to hurt opponents.

"We just want to see the facts of the investigation and put the truth out there."

Brees called the investigation "unfair" and said the investigation has been "extremely unfair."  He told Letterman, "It's been  more of a media campaign than it is actually finding the truth."

Brees was also on the Late Show to talk about his efforts to reduce concussions.  He talked about retired player suicides and efforts to better research head injury's long term impact on players.

Letterman also asked Brees, "Are you gonna play?  Are you going to get your contract?"

Brees replied, "Let's hope so.  Yeah, I am going to play for sure."
