New survey looks at who's more likely to cheat
Shana Rose Reporting
A new survey offers surprising results on who's more likely to cheat in a marriage.
The polling was conducted on a controversial dating website that facilitates extramarital affairs called AshleyMadison.com.
Founder and CEO Noel Biderman says they wanted to find out what the typical cheater looks like. "We tend to hypothesize and Hollywood does a good job of letting us believe it's only politicians that have these affairs, but really it's all kinds of walks of life."
Who do you think is more likely to cheat...a banker, a doctor, a lawyer or an IT expert? Biderman says he was surprised to learn the answer.
Never before have IT professionals led the list he says, but they are now some of the highest paid individuals. "And what we see is, affluence and infidelity are always closely linked."
Over 11,000 men responded to the survey on the site and Biderman says those who cheat are more likely to be in their 40s, married over a decade and the father of two. As for the 3,000 women who responded, they were more likely to be stay at home moms, teachers and health care workers.
