Heavy rain and storms likely this weekend

All of Southeast Louisiana is under a flood watch through Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters say we could see rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour at times, resulting in ponding of water in poorly-drained areas.  3 to 6 inches of rain total is possible through Sunday.

The Weather Service says the soggy weather is due to an upper level weather disturbance that is interacting with a weak frontal boundary draped across the area, while a moisture-rich atmosphere resides over the region.
