2 years ago: Thousands of men in dresses marched in Nola

It was two years ago this weekend that thousands of male Saints fans put aside their anxiety and put on a dress.

A parade to honor both legendary broadcaster Buddy Diliberto and the team's first trip to the Super Bowl was expected to draw perhaps a couple of hundred die-hard fans. Instead, an estimated eight thousand men, many in heels, marched from the Superdome to the French Quarter, and a crowd of 80,000 turned out to watch the procession led by WWL's Bobby Hebert.

Buddy had long promised fans that if the Saints ever made it to the Super Bowl, he'd wear a dress.  Sadly, Buddy passed away before he was able to see the Black & Gold dream fulfilled.  However, Hebert picked up the torch and the promise, and he was joined by thousands of men in drag.
