Alabama fan in video is ''embarrassed'' by fellow Tide fan

A Bama fan is speaking out after he was also seen the viral video of an LSU fan abused on Bourbon Street after the BCS title game.

You can see the man who only shared his first name, Joe, smiling and laughing on the video from Krystal Burger at first.

"People were just fooling around with him... putting boxes on him and putting their fingers in his nose and just playing silly jokes on him," Joe told WWL First News.

Listen to Joe:

He says when it became clear another Alabama fan standing near him was going to involve his genitals, he was no longer amused.

"Once I saw the man remove his private parts, I knew that it was something I didn't want to be a part of it... I just walked away," the Alabama student explained. "I was astounded and embarrassed to be an  Alabama fan while this guy was doing all of this."

He says, however, he didn't tell police he saw standing a short distance away.

"I just wanted to get away from any potential conflict."

He says the entire thing upset him.

"I didn't like it, and I was embarrassed."

Joe says he hopes people in Louisiana don't think that is how all Alabama fans behave.

"I would like to apologize to everyone, all the LSU fans."

He says the 32-year-old man police arrested should pay a price, even if it means going to prison and / or having to register as a sex offender.

"His actions were completely unacceptable, and whatever happens to him, I feel like he deserves it."

Police last week arrested Brian Downing (above), the man they say committed the sexual battery seen in the video.
