WWL's 2011 Year in Review

1.  LSU Football goes 13 - 0 for the first time ever and gets into the BCS National Championship game

2.  A federal jury find the cops charged in the Danziger Bridge shootings and coverup guilty

3.  A brawl at Shady's Bar in Baton Rouge leads to LSU starting QB Jordan Jefferson arrested

4.  Police say a Thibodaux man beheaded and dismembered his disabled son and placed the child's head outside the house for the boy's mother to find

5.  Halloween night fun turns deadly in New Orleans with shootings, including one on Bourbon Street.  Two people died, 14 were injured... many were innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire

6.  Historical high water levels in the Mississippi River threaten the levee system, the Corps of Engineers opens three control structures at the same time for the first time ever

7.  A federal grand jury indicts former Jefferson Parish President Aaron Broussard for allegedly hiring his ex-wife for a job she was not qualified to hold and giving her merit raises even though she allegedly did no work

8.  Convicted former Governor Edwin Edwards is released from federal prison and marries woman more than 50 years younger

9.  Saints make playoffs for third consecutive year

10.  Marsh fire in New Orleans East blankets the region in smoke
