Can the Saints win on the road in the playoffs?

If the Saints want to win another Super Bowl, they are going to have to win on the road in the playoffs.  Despite what some analysts are saying, that doesn't worry the team.

"I've seen a lot of commentary lately about the Saints having difficulty playing on the road, and how that's gonna be our Achilles heel once we get to the playoffs," General Manager and Vice President Mickey Loomis said.  "I think those are guys who haven't looked at our record over the past few years."

Over the past three seasons, the Saints have 18 wins and 7 losses on the road... including the playoffs.

"We've been... not just a good, but a great road team," Loomis insisted.  "We're not afraid to go out on the road."

The Saints three losses this season all came on the road.

Unless the 49ers lose to the Rams Sunday, and the Saints beat the Panthers, the Saints will host a wildcard game and then play a divisional playoff in San Francisco if they win.  If they beat the 49ers, the Saints would likely have to go back to Green Bay in the NFC Championship... assuming the Packers win their divisional game.  (That game could be against the Cowboys, Giants, Falcons or Lions.)

"We'll play anywhere."

Loomis says the Saints are not satisfied with what they have accomplished so far this season.

"We're excited to win the NFC South, but on to new and better goals," the GM told WWL's Bobby Hebert.
