Caravans of fans with plans for LSU - Alabama game

Tens of thousands of LSU fans are expected to be headed to Alabama next weekend to witness the #1 Tigers battle the #2 Crimson Tide.

"This is the game of the century really," Alabama Tourism Spokeswoman Edith Parten says.  "We open our doors and welcome all of the LSU fans."

WWL.com SEC blogger Jordan Fiegel says there's good eating and drinking in Tuscaloosa.

"Dreamland BBQ is a great place to eat, some of the best ribs that I've ever had,"  he said.  "If you're looking for a good place to watch the game, you can go to the Houndstooth Bar.  It's right off the strip, and it's right near the stadium."

The battle between the two top ranked college football teams in the nation means hotels are packed full in Tuscaloosa.

"A lot of football fans stay in the Birmingham area," Parten said.  "You still may be able to find a room there, and it's a short drive... 45 minutes to an hour."

She says even if you don't have seats in the stadium, come on anyway.

"If you don't have tickets to get into the game, there nothing like being there."  Parten insisted.  "There's a lot of tailgating and parties going on."
