Deke: A look at Saints stats after three games

The fourth and final preseason game is this Thursday night in the Superdome, as the Black and Gold host the Baltimore Ravens - it will be the first of two meetings between the Saints and Purple Birds. Baltimore returns to New Orleans for a Monday Night Football primetime event on November 24th.  The Ravens are the lone NFL Team that the Saints have not beaten in the Sean Payton era! Before we get to all that, here's a few things I noted about last night's match-up against the Colts.
  • The Colts ran 27 offensive plays for 132 yards in the first half
  • The Saints ran 49 offensive plays for 288 yards and scored 20 points in the first half against the Colts
  • The Saints Offense scored a TD on their first possession for the second straight week
  • Before their final drive (13 plays 78 yards) of the first half, the Saints Defense held the Colts Offense to 54 yards on 14 plays
  • The Saints outgained the Colts 288-132 in the first half
  • New Orleans rushed for 124 yards in the first half/ The Saints Defense limited the Colts to 38 yards rushing in the first half
  • The Saints have won their first three preseason games in consecutive seasons for the first time in franchise history
  • The 3-0 Saints host the 3-0 Ravens Thursday, the only match-up of 3-0 teams the final week of preseason action
  • New Orleans has scored 80 points - 26.6 points per game
  • The Saints have allowed 65 points - 21.6 points per game
  • The Saints offense has 1,130 yards averaging 377 yards per game
  • The Saints have 11 QB sacks for minus 72 yards
  • Saints QB’s have been sacked 4 times
  • New Orleans has forced eight turnovers
  • The Saints are plus 5 in the turnover ratio
  • New Orleans has been flagged 42 times for 372 yards
  • The Saints average 14 penalties and 124 yards per game
  • Drew Brees completed 9-of-15 pass attempts for 128 yards with two TD’s and a QB rating of 127.2 in his only action in a preseason game
  • Saints RB Mark Ingram has carried the ball 21 times for 148 yards averaging 6.8 yards per carry
