Week 6 Around the NFC South

Sundays just aren’t the same without the Saints. We can say goodbye to those Black & Gold bye week blues now that the team’s week off is over and they are gearing up to start the 2nd quarter of their season.  3-2 Detroit is coming to the Mercedes Benz Superdome this week, and the Lions roar has been mighty against the Saints.  New Orleans has played these cats from Motown in each of the last 3 seasons, and they have lost every single match-up. At 2-2, a victory would mean so much to New Orleans since the team hasn’t been above the .500 mark since 2013!

Carolina Panthers (4-1)

It appears the Panthers home loss to the Saints in week 3 was a wake-up call to Cam Newton and the offense. They’ve been rolling ever since and have put together back-to-back impressive road wins by taking down the Patriots in New England and dominating in Detroit last Sunday.

Carolina is back home to host the 4-1 Philadelphia Eagles in one of the best games around the league this weekend.

Atlanta Falcons (3-1)

The A.T.L. was also on a bye in week 5. They, however, went into their break with a stinging home loss to the Buffalo Bills, but they get a pretty favorable match-up this week against the 2-2 Dolphins.  We saw Drew Brees carve up Miami, and we think Matt Ryan will do the same.  Matty Ice has been ice cold of late, though, as he’s tossed 3 TDs with 5 INTs in his last 2 outings.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-2)

The Bucs had a shot to take down the defending Super Bowl champion Patriots on Thursday Night Football, but 3 missed field goals cost them in a 5 point loss.  It also cost kicker Nick Folk his gig.

Tampa travels to 2-3 Arizona in week 6, and they have a good chance a getting their pirate ship back on course.  The Cardinals have hit hard times as their offense and defense are struggling.  Both units rank in the bottom half of the league.
