One down, two to go for a Saints trip to Super Bowl

A 31-26 victory over the Panthers in the Superdome has the Saints moving on in the NFL postseason!

Now New Orleans will play the Vikings at 3:40pm Sunday 1/14 in Minneapolis.  The last time New Orleans made a trip there was back in week 1 of the regular season and it wasn't pretty.

Sam Bradford was under center then, not Case Keenum; and Bradford shredded the Saints secondary for 346 yards and 3 TDs.

Conversely, the Vikings defense dominated as they shut down the Black and Gold's rushing attack for only 60 yards. That was way back when Adrian Peterson was still in Black & Gold.  He and Sean Payton's relationship became hot gossip after TV cameras caught this exchange between the two during the game.

The aerial assault had its issues, too. The The Saints ended up passing for 291 yards yards, but Drew Brees' only TD toss of the day was only a plus for fantasy football owners since it came with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

New Orleans is a much different team now...for the better.  The run game became a much more productive tandem with just Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara splitting carries.  Also, the Fleur de Lis D is a more cohesive unit.  The biggest difference in the secondary has been the emergence of CB Ken Crawley, who was inactive the first 2 games of the season.

This weekend's divisional NFC playoff match-up for the Saints marks the 2nd time they'll be playing in Minnesota's new U.S. Bank Stadium. If the Who Dat dream remains alive, they'll find themselves back there for Super Bowl LII on February 4th. WHO DAT!
