Tick-tock tick-tock; draft day draws closer in the NFL. While the first round guys get the bulk of our attention, the mid to late round draft picks are just as important. Here are 4 players who could peak the interest of the Saints....
Josh Sweat - Florida State DE
The 6-foot-4, 251-pounder was a five-star high school prospect that
suffered a torn ACL and dislocation of his left knee in then had minor surgery on the same knee to repair a meniscus tear as a sophomore at FSU. Those injuries required him to wear a knee brace but he has shed that now ...

Sweat logged 12 1/2 sacks and 24 tackles for loss his final two seasons with the Seminoles. When asked at his Pro Day if he could also play outside linebacker, Sweat said his only preference was to rush the passer as much as possible. Likely a 3rd round selection but could go in round 2.
Nathan Shepard - Fort Hayes State DT
Shepherd stood out at the Senior Bowl as being quick for a big guy before breaking his hand. He is
6’5”, weighs 315 pounds and is considered a project that could get taken as high as the 3rd round....

Shepard will certainly grab your attention. 12 ½ out of 38 tackles last season were for a loss and includes four sacks.
Logan Woodside - Toledo QB
One scouting report I saw on this kid read..." an undersized quarterback with a very average arm who overcomes his deficiencies with good football intelligence and above average accuracy" Hmmmm....who does that sound like?

The 6'1" singal caller complted 65% of his passes during his 4 years at Toldeo and racked up 10,514 yards passing with 93 TDs and 25 INTs. Woodside was incossitent with some drills at the combine but has displayed good anticaption along with an acurate arm which could tranlatse to the pros. Worth a 3rd round draft pick?
Will Clapp - LSU C/G
Beefing up the offenvie line is usually a smart move and the Saints have done well into devleoping guys. Clapp has an NFL frame at 6'4", 311 lbs. and won't blow anyone away has proven to be a constisten force to recon with...

Clapp led the the Tigers this past season in offensive snaps and knockdown blocks. He'll likely get selected in round 4.
