One question I get asked a lot: When will the Saints sign their draft picks?

The Saints have already started doing this, rookie defensive ends Trey Hendrickson and Al-Quadin Muhammad have both agreed to contracts with the team.  Hendrickson's deal is $3 million in total value.  The terms of Muhammad's deal haven't been disclosed.

The team recieved $7.8 million dollars in cap space today, after the off-season release of Safety Jairus Byrd.  The Saints intend on getting all of their draft picks inked this week, aside from 31st over all pick Ryan Ramczyk, who's rehabbing a hip injury.  Signing rookies in the slotted pay scale system currently in place since 2011 is a lot less complex in today's NFL.  The days of protracted hold outs and contract squabbles are pretty much a thing of the past.  I think you can expect news to come down on the signing of their rookie class by later this evening and into tomorrow.

Typically the guys drafted in the middle or late rounds come to terms on a contract a little quicker.  The Saints seven member draft class includes, CB Marshon Lattimore (11th overall, 1st round), OT Ryan Ramczyk (31st overall, 1st round), S Marcus Williams (2nd round) RB Alvin Kimara (3rd round) LB Alex Anzalone (3rd round), DE Trey Hendrickson (3rd round) and DE Al-Quadin Muhammad (6th round).
