After yesterday's thrilling 34-31 come from behind overtime win over the Washington Redskins. Coach Sean Payton and the Saints are sitting pretty at 8-2 with plenty to fix. The defense is getting bit by the injury bug.  Already without two starters (A.J Klein, and Kenny Vaccaro) the Saints suffered two more injuries to front line players in the win over Washington.  DE Alex Okafor will miss the remainder of the season with a torn achillies.

"Unfortunately Alex has been playing his best football. I'm crushed for him. The other players are going to work hard in rehab. We'll have players ready to go," Payton explained. Payton didn't mention the status of CB Marshon Lattimore (ankle). Lattimore suffered his injury in the first half of yesterday's win over the Redskins.

Payton went on to praise K Will Lutz for his perfect afternoon including the game winner in overtime. "He's been rock solid. He's got a live leg. In a game like yesterday you wanna get in the shower quickly. It was a gut instinct." Lutz was perfect on FG attempts and extra points in the win over Washington.  The Saints got some special contributions from their special teams units in the win. Punt returner Tommylee Lewis set up the Saints with really good field position in OT with a really good return that allowed the Saints to run two offensive plays before handing the ball to K Will Lutz for the game winner.
