Whether you consider the early signees helping LSU football end 2017 with a bang, or if you are one that likes to put today’s class in the area of getting a nice start to the 2018 football season, it’s all good news for the Tiger football program.

LSU closed the 2017 season with a 6-1 mark, winning 6 SEC games for the first time in six seasons.  Couple that with a chance for LSU to close out the season with 10 wins after the Citrus Bowl against Notre Dame and LSU has a lot of good things going for them right now.

Now you can add a group of early football signees that only make Tigers fans more optimistic.  On day one of the first ever early signing period for college football, LSU has added some quality players across the board.

Going into this recruiting period, Coach Ed Orgeron stressed the importance of LSU going out and landing some proven, veteran junior college linemen.  Well the Tigers can check that off their list of things to do.

OT Badara Traore comes to LSU as one of the premier players in all of football.  LSU also added more depth along an already stout O-Line by picking up Northwest Community College OG Damien Lewis.

Just think, less than four months ago the future of the LSU o-line looked dim to say the least.  Now, after a season in which several Freshmen players matured and made huge strides and the addition of some of the nation’s elite JUCO Offensive Linemen, in just four months what once seemed to be a question mark is now without question a strength for the Tigers' football team.

The Tigers were also able to bolster their defensive line with key signees of players like Houston’s Dominic Livingston, Bastrop’s highly touted DE Travez Moore, and Ferriday’s DT Dare Rosenthal.

The LSU early crop of players had a good Texas flavor along with landing some of the elite players in the Bayou State.  Southern Lab LB Damone Clark, Evangel DT Davin Cotton, and Berwick WR Kenan Jones were some of the nation’s most sought after players in the recruiting process.

Now, the Tigers have two more days to wrap up what is already a very promising signing class for 2018.  And keep in mind there are three days all together remaining in which a player can choose to sign; December 21-22, and the first Wednesday in February which is Nation Signing Day.
