Mardi Gras starts out cool, but temps will reach the middle 60s.

Skies will remain cloudy and there is a 20 percent chance for some afternoon showers.

"A couple of stray showers not out of the question for this afternoon but not a high rain chance by any means," said WWL-TV meteorologist Alexandra Cranford.

The 20 percent probability will remain for tonight.

Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday will start off with patchy fog and highs in the 70s by the afternoon, and staying dry for the rest of the work week.
