LSU baseball fans can breathe a little easier after watching the Tigers break out of their offensive funk with a 7-4 win over Texas A&M. The first four hitters in the Tigers line-up led the way and Jared Poche was outstanding on the mound.

LSU is now 19-9, 5-3 in the SEC.

Cole Freeman, Antoine Duplantis and Kramer Robertson each had multiple hits at the top of the order. Robertson drove in three runs and hit his second home run of the season. The senior shortstop had three hits on the night to up his batting average to .321. He was hitting .209 in his previous 10 games.

Greg Deichmann followed Robertson's shot into the left field bleachers, with a towering blast over the right field wall for his team leading 9th home run of the season.

Coach Paul Mainieri inserted freshman Rankin Woley into the line-up. He played first base for the struggling Jake Slaughter. Woley rewarded Mainieri's decision by getting a couple of hits.

Poche pitched seven strong innings to improve his record 6-1. His only mistake was a two-run home run that he allowed in the 7th inning.

LSU relief pitcher Hunter Newman pitched for the first time in over a couple of weeks and struck out the side in the 8th inning.

Todd Peterson allowed a two-run homer in the 9th to complete the scoring.

The Tigers will go for the series victory on Saturday at 2:30. Eric Walker will pitch for LSU. He's 3-0 with a 3.69 ERA. Corbin Martin will go for the Aggies. He's 2-2 with a 4/07 ERA.
