It was a late-Sunday night/early-Monday morning victory that sent LSU to Omaha. Now the Tigers know when they will take the field at TD Ameritrade Park.

#4 LSU will square off with Florida State Saturday night at 7pm (CST).

The Tigers and the Seminoles will play in primetime on opening night of the College World Series, coming in as two of the hottest teams in the nation. LSU qualified for the postseason by winning the SEC tournament. Florida State did the same in the ACC.

Both teams swept through super-regional play last weekend, and both punched their tickets scoring at least 14 runs in the deciding game.

As for what will come next, the loser of the LSU-Florida State matchup will play Monday at 1pm, while the winner advances to play on Tuesday at 6pm.

Saturday’s action starts with #1 seed Oregon State battling Cal State Fullerton at 2pm. The winner and loser of that game will be paired with the winner and loser of LSU-Florida State in the next games of the double elimination tournament.

We’ll have the full play-by-play of LSU-Florida State on WWL, starting with pregame coverage at 6:30 Saturday night.
