Freeze warning for Northshore

The National Weather Service is urging Northshore residents to take precautions with freezing conditions forecast.

"A Freeze Warning is in effect late tonight and early Friday morning for portions of south Mississippi and southeast Louisiana," according to an advisory. "The Freeze Warning is in effect from 4 am to 8 am Friday for extreme southwest Mississippi, Pearl River County Mississippi , and the northshore area of southeast Louisiana."

Authorities say protect people, pets and plants.

"A light freeze is forecast as temperatures fall into the 30 to 32 degree range for a 2 to 4 hour period."

WWL TV Chief Meteorologist Carl Arredondo says the Southshore won't be quite as cold.

"South of the lake more chilly 40s, protect pets/people.  Highs Friday in mid 60s."

FRIDAY MORNING:
Clear skies.  Cold lows north of the lake around 34 with frost, protect plants/pets/people and chilly south of the lake around 43, protect pets/people.  Wind N/NE 3-5 mph.

FRIDAY:
Lots of sunshine and mild.  Highs around 66.  Wind N/SW 5-10 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT/SATURDAY MORNING:
Clear skies.  Cold lows north of the lake around 38, protect pets/people and chilly south of the lake around 46, protect pets/people. Wind S 3-5 mph.

SATURDAY:
Partly cloudy and mild.  Highs around 71.  Wind S/N 5-10 mph.

SUNDAY:
Lots of sunshine and mild.  Chilly lows north of the lake around 44, protect pets/people and cool south of the lake around 52.  Highs around 69.

MONDAY:
Lots of sunshine and mild.  Cold lows north of the lake around 38, protect pets/people and chilly south of the lake around 48, protect pets/people.  Highs around 70.

TUESDAY:
Mostly clear and mild.  Chily lows north of the lake around 44, protect pets/people and cool south of the lake around 53.  Highs around 75.  

WEDNESDAY:
Clouds & sunshine, breezy, and mild with a 30% chance for spotty showers.  Cool lows north of the lake around 52 and cool south of the lake around 58.  Highs around 71.

THURSDAY:
Lots of sunshine and mild.  Chilly lows north of the lake around 45, protect pets/people and cool south of the lake around 52.  Highs around 69.
