Drew Brees didn't give a fan in need a hand; he gave him a leg. High school quarterback Alex Ruiz lost his right leg due to an injury playing football back in October.  The kid from California is a huge Brees fan from Drew's Chargers days. And it turns out Ruiz's idol ended up paying him a special visit.

So honored to present 17 yr old Alex Ruiz @aruiz_39 with his walking prosthetic thanks to FNA Flag Football @playfna and Challenged Athletes @cafoundation. Can’t wait to present you with your athletic training prosthetic this fall! You inspire us all!

Ruiz's family had brought him out to a Football 'N' America flag football game in San Diego. Brees has expanded the FNA league out West after starting it in Louisiana last year. Kids K-10th grade get to compete without contact to learn the rules and proper sportsmanship before strapping on the pads.
