After a high around 80 degrees today, a front will bring much colder air.  Southeast Louisiana will stay mostly in the 40s until Friday.

"Get ready for a big change to our weather!" WWL-TV Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum said. "A cold front will move toward our area today. Ahead of it we will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms today.  Some heavy rain is possible."

He says the bulk of the rain will be in the late afternoon into the evening hours.

"Overnight, the rain will taper off to a few showers, but it will become breezy and colder."

Nussbaum says overnight lows will be in the 40s on both sides of the lake, and temps will stay in the 40 all day Wednesday and Thursday with more rain.

"Wednesday and Thursday are going to be some raw weather days!  It will be cold and rainy each day."

Will it snow?  Nussbaum says the timing will not work out.

"Thursday night will be even colder as the rain comes to an end with lows in the lower 30s north and upper 30s south.  The rain is expected to exit the area before we get to freezing, so I'm not expecting any frozen precipitation."

Sun returns Friday with highs in the 50s.

"The weekend will be very nice with plenty of sun each day.  Saturday will have a high around 60, but Sunday will be back in the 50s as a dry cold front moves through. Lows will be in the 30s north with frost and around 40 south."
