A blast of cold air has blown into Southeast Louisiana.  After record highs of 85 yesterday, temps will be about 40 degrees colder this afternoon.

"Get ready for a cold and rainy day in the wake of the cold front," WWL-TV Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum said. "When you combine the rain with the cold and breezy weather, we are going to have a very raw weather day."

He says high temperatures will only be in the mid 40s, but it will feel like the 30s with the wind chill.

"Tonight will continue to be cloudy, breezy and cold with scattered showers.  Lows will be in the upper 30s north and lower 40s south.  It will feel like the 30s.  Bundle up ALL day!"

Nussbaum forecasts more of the same tomorrow.

"Soggy and cold weather is on tap for Thursday. High temperatures will only get into the mid 40s again, so it will feel like the 30s.  Thursday Night's weather could get a little interesting."

There is a slim chance part of Southeast Louisiana could see some snow flurries.

"A second surge of cold air will be moving into the area with lows in the lower 30s north and upper 30s south.  At the same time we will still have scattered showers.  It is possible we could see some sleet or snow flakes mixed in with the rain at times on the both sides of the lake.  I'm not expect any accumulation at this time."

The showers will gradually taper off on Friday.

"We will be left with mostly cloudy skies.  It will stay chilly with highs in the upper 40s."

Sunshine returns by Saturday.

"However, it will stay cool with highs in the upper 50s as another dry cold front moves through.  We will have some light freezes on the Northshore with lows in the lower 30s, and we will have some frost on the Southshore with lows in the upper 30s.  Protect plants, pets and people all weekend!"
