"I'm so excited, I cannot wait for the season to start," one woman told WWL First News this morning. "I think it's going to be great and I think our Saints are going to do great."
They say that say despite the adversity heaped upon them, from coach and player suspensions to bad publicity to a hurricane, they expect the Black & Gold to put the hurt on the rest of the league, Sunday after Sunday (and a Monday and a Thursday thrown in this season, too).
Listen to Saints fans talk about getting ready for Sunday's game:
"Losing a couple of players and the coach is significant, and it can be overcome," said a man predicting a 12-win season for the Saints in 2012, despite the significant adversity. Other fans say the Saints can "unleash the hidden power of adversity," to borrow the subtitle of quarterback Drew Brees' book, and use it to their advantage.
"I think that's going to give them even more enthusiasm," one Who Dat said.
"(Coach Payton) might not be there by body, but he there with them in spirit," said another. "That's what's going to make them go through."
