A 41-year-old Harvey man faces incest charges after his 18-year-old daughter accused him of rape.

According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, the victim first reported the crime to her school counselor, telling the counselor that her biological father brought her to a motel Wednesday and raped her.

School officials notified the sheriff's office, and investigators report finding physical evidence of the crime when they searched the motel room.  Officials say the victim provided the room number to detectives.

"The teen stated she did not resist her father. She believed her father would kick her out of the house, if she did not comply," said a sheriff's official in a news release.  "Meanwhile, the teen's father was interviewed at the Jefferson Parish Investigations Bureau, where he admitted engaging in consensual sexual relations with his daughter."

Deputies placed the man under arrest and booked him into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.
