The 31st Annual French Quarter Festival presented by Chevron kicks off on Thursday! What started as a neighborhood festival and "locals' event" has grown into the largest free music festival in the United States: the 2013 French Quarter Festival hosted over 560,000 local and out-of-town visitors and had an economic impact of over $246 million. In 2014,attendees can look forward to New Orleans' finest restaurants at 'The World's Largest Jazz Brunch'; over 1,400 world class, local musicians; and special, unique experiences. WWL and sister station 3WL will be broadcasting live from Jackson Square each day.

The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is a FREE family friendly outdoor festival, filled with lots of great food, games, entertainment, and fun for people of all ages to enjoy. Fifth Annual Easter Egg HuntApril 12 West Bank Bridge Park 13825 River Road in Luling
Sponsored by the Special Olympics and the Deparment of Parks and Recreation, the hunt goes from 9:30AM to 12:00PM. The cost is a $2.00 donation. There are divisions for each age group: 10:30 a.m. 1-3 Yrs Field 1, 10:45 a.m. 7-10 Yrs Field 2, 11:00 a.m. 4-6 Yrs Field 1. There will be a Grand Prize for each age group including Prize for Hat Contest Please bring your basket for the hunt! There will be an additional $5.00 charge for pictures with the Easter Bunny.
St. Bernard Irish Italian Islenos ParadeApril 13 W. Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette
Celebrate all three of St. Bernard's unique heritages with throws of cabbage, carrots, onions, lemons, and potatoes alongside beads, cups, and more! It might not be on St. Patrick's Day, but this parade is one of the best around. The parade starts at 11am along the W. Judge Perez route - from Meraux Dr. down to Ventura and back! Over 300,000 pounds of produce to be tossed; Cabbage, Potatoes, Onions, Carrots, Lemons, Limes, Pineapples, Bananas, Oranges and much more.
Second Annual Kids Town Eggstravaganza on the GreenApril 13 Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Mandeville
Admission to the event is just one dollar for each person over the age of three. In addition to inflatables provided by Best Jump and cookie decorating by Nonna Randazzo’s Bakery, events include; a rubber duck regatta, live entertainment from Missy Spinosa of the band Witness, face painting, an egg hunt with over 20,000 eggs for three separate age groups, crafts, and of course a guest appearance by the Easter Bunny. Walgreens will be on hand taking photos with the Easter Bunny for a three dollar donation. Elmer’s Chocolate is donating 5,000 pieces of candy, and food and drink will be available for purchase. You can even enter your own rubber duck in the regatta for a chance to win $500 if he crosses the finish line first.
