WINLESS IN SEATTLE

The Saints have been eliminated from the playoffs following a 23-15 loss at the hands of the top seeded Seahawks in the NFC Divisional round.

New Orleans’ defense played well for the most part but the offense was stifled.  QB Drew Brees was limited to 24 completions on 43 attempts for 309 yards passing and 1 touchdown.  Tight end Jimmy Graham was a non-factor with 1 catch for 8 yards on 6 targets while running back Mark Ingram had a costly fumble to start the 2nd quarter that resulted in a Seahawks TD.  Kicker Shayne Graham had a rough day as well going 0-2 in field goal attempts.

A bright spot was the play of undrafted rookie free agent RB Khiry Robinson.  K-Rob rushed for 57 yards and a score on 13 attempts.

You can’t blame the Gatorade or the Popeyes chicken or any other gimmick coach Sean Payton came up with.  Seattle just proved to be the better team again after dominating the Saints back in week 13 of the regular season 34-7.

Game Plan
Payton another poor coaching job in the second half he called 3 straight passing plays, knowing that the running game was very effective. Rob Ryan coached one hell of a game, defence played gave the offence plenty of opportunities to score. This unit should be very special with a second year in Ryan's system.Robinson the un-drafted rookie can be a very special player, if Payton gives him more carries. Its clear that Mark Ingram isn't the player the thought he was and he should be traded. The offence needs a true center, right tackle, one more wide receiver and a quarter back for the future. If the Saints resign its key players and add a couple of more pieces then next year they will be contending for another Super Bowl in 2015. Thank you Saints for one hell of a year, it was good while it lasted. Who Dat!!!

Referee Calls Are You Kidding Me?
Offensive Pass Interference on Lance Moore for fighting to get free from a DB who was holding him? Total B.S. It started with a 15 yarder against Rafael Bush for putting his shoulder into Percy Harvin. It continued all game long with DB's holding receivers or going through them to play the ball. The NFL has decided that Seattle DB's get to play a different game then the other 31 teams. With that said, Jimmy Graham needed to man up and be physical to get off the line of scrimmage. He allowed Richard Sherman to take him out of the game without even putting up a fight.

we blew it
The Saints beat themselves this game. You cannot win games with turnovers and you certainly can't miss field goals and expect to win. Better luck next season, much love to my beloved Saints. Way to go DEFENSE!

Offense Sputters Again
Got to find a way to be more productive on offense. SP will figure this out for 2014. Bless You Boys!

A lot of work to be done.
M. Ingram belongs on this team. He packs power that the other backs don't have. Robinson and Ingram should be the new tag team combo. The cap needs release and the o-line needs a youth movement. Armstead is the LT of the future and will become dominant if he wants to. Defensively drafting a MLB on the grounds of a Luke Kueckly to pair with Loften. Two young OLBs and a big cover CB. Also a TE that can block.

Sad who dat
Sorry and sad but as always , love the saints. Wish I could be there to greet their plane. Next year

A lot of work to be done 2
P. Thomas and D. Sproles should be traded for Draft picks and cap releaf. Also Will Smith, Jonathan Vilma and Roman Harper should be released for cap releaf. This team needs to get younger, faster and more importantly aggressive. Our o-line don't cut block on the weak side allowing huge cutback lanes for the backs. That nastiness is needed to get to the next level of offense. Oh by the way J. Graham needs to be resigned, but also needs to grow some and learn how to run block.

Why does Brees falter on the road?
Well, now it’s painfully obvious why the Saints can barely win any away games. It’s Brees. So many of his throws are off the mark, Seattle dropped at least three easy interceptions or it could’ve been lots worse. One collision gave Meachum a big first down by sheer luck, Brees missed Graham far right on the goal line collision. Delay of game penalties and wasted time-outs to avoid those penalties, he’s not focused and fifty percent efficient at best. Yes, I know Ingram fumbled, and Cadet and Ingram missed well set up screen passes, some guys missed tackles or blocks. Don’t blame the kicker, once he had to hit the laces, one was 48 yards out on a strong swirling wind. Don’t blame Colston’s last play, he thought time had run out, he had a very good game. Brees and the Saints used to be a very good road team, what changed? Is it he’s now a big family man, or is it all the endorsements and commercials? Maybe he should spend some of those millions on a shrink to find out his problem with traveling. If they’d record errors like in baseball Brees on the road would set another record, but not a good one. He has more errors than any other Saints player on the road. He probably has more than all the rest of the team combined. Now it’s painfully obvious.

Another roller coaster season comes to an end!
Well, I know a lot of people are disappointed about the loss to the Seahawks but they were the better team on the day! At least we kept the score closer this time. Looking forward to next season when it will all start over again and this disappointing finish will be a distant memory! It been fun, thanks for a great season New Orleans. WHO DAT!!!!!!!!!

Graham a Non Factor????
I think the fame and fortune went to his head. He needs to start playing football!

jp in denham springs
Laces in or laces out???? Better call in Ace Venture, the Pet Detective to figure that one out or better yet call in Ray Finkle and Danny Boy Marino..... What will the off season hold with player acquisition...The Saints need some help!

EllsBelles
I agree with the officiating comments above. However, late in the game, Drew got hot, and our D continued to play really well! If there had been FIVE quarters in this game, the Saints would have won going away! Check out ALL of the stats!

I love the Saints... Just sad today. Now- I root for Peyton

Robinson
Khiry Robinson needed to be let loose and the Saints would have never been behind in this game. Coach Peyton definitely blew this one. Will he learn from this yr. Lets us Pray n Believe. Who Dat

4th quarter
Our offense did not get hot, Seattle shut it down
01/12/2014 9:23PM
Lots of missed penalties against Seattle
There were several missed holding and pass interference non-calls missed by the officials. That being said, the Saints were still in the game, except that the offense did not gel until the final quarter. Khiry Robinson needs to be a fixture in the offense next season. We still need some work on the offensive line. While they are better than they have been they still let the defense get to Brees way too many times and this wasn't the first game. Ball security was an issue today, also. I don't understand the last play of the game, but I wasn't on the field. Win, lose, or draw I am a Saints fan 'til I die.
