A packed and merry crowd at Champions Square was treated to the premiere of a brand-new $1.6 million lighting system Thursday night. Officials from the Superdome, Mercedez-Benz and Saints owner Tom Benson touted the permanent installation as world-class, evoking images of the illuminated Eiffel Tower and Brooklyn Bridge.
