Tigers blow out Bulldogs in basketball

How it happened: LSU had five players in double figures led by Charles Carmouche, who had a career-high 21 points in an 80-67 victory over Mississippi State. LSU hit 12 3-pointers and shot 54-percent from the field. The Tigers have won five of their last six, to even their SEC record at 6-and-6.

Most Valuable Tigers: Senior Charles Carmouche had the hot shooting hand, as he drilled five three-pointers and finished with 21 points. Carmouche also had five rebounds. Johnny O’Bryant was two assists away from a triple-double as he had 10 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Andrew Del Piero also had a career-high 13 points.

Stat of the game: LSU had 24 assists to go along with its 30 made baskets.

What it means: The Tigers are now 6-and-6 in the SEC and there are six regular season games left. LSU is done playing bad SEC teams. The rest of the teams they play have a .500 record or better in conference play.

Up next: LSU finishes its stretch of three games in six days with a trip to Tennessee on Tuesday. The Volunteers are 13-and-10 overall after trouncing Kentucky 88-58 on Saturday.
