The end of cheap gas?

The last couple of years of falling gas prices appear to be over.

Already, prices are averaging above two dollars a gallon in metro New Orleans.

"We're looking at prices we haven't seen since 2014."

AAA fuel analyst Don Redman says OPEC's reduced production got it going.

Redman says he is really interested to see what will happen in the next month or two.

"It appears at least for the short term that those prices will continue to climb. Our big concern is how...prices may be when we get into the spring."

Redman says that's when refineries being the maintenance cycle before transitioning form making cheaper winter grade fuel to cleaner-burning but more expensive summer grade.

AAA is predicting gas prices between 2.35 and 2.50 a gallon.
